Hi All,

Wow....that is only 1 word to explain taking to the skies, the absolute feeling of freedom and peace can never really be explained. Well to let you guys and girls know, my name is Gary and I fly an Aviate cosmos chronos undercarriage with a Raptor wing, powered by a rotax 503. I fly in a little place called the Kalahari...hehe to be exact in a place called Kathu. I fly from the Sishen airport FASS. Nice area to fly in as we are at 3848ft asl. Do have more bumpy days than smooth as the heat here is high, but late afternoon flips is a must, the sunset is just awesome. Anyone know of anyone else who flies in this area regularly? Here are some pics to introduce myself.

I flew a Bantam 6 from a private strip in the Rust de Winter area. Latest toy is a Foxbat. Thinking of starting a fly-inn destination as we are forming a big 5 game reserve here.

Enjoy.

Hi Hannes..

Hopefully it attached...

It's amazing - change the fuse from 10amp to 15 amp, and give the radio battery a good overnight charge, and voila - it works... no need to consider replacing!

Hi, my name is Petrus, at this stage of the game I don't fly anything anywhere, but my dad bought a Windlass 503 to support my flying passion, it is on our farm in Namibia, but I hope to start training whitin a month in Pretoria.
I flew and saw the halo around my shadow on the cotton clouds, and I knew that this must be heaven.

Good luck Petrus. The Windlass is a great microlight. I sold mine after 15yrs. Only because I have been building a Savannah.
Fly safe,
Vernon. vhpy vhpy vhpy

A couple of us are still planning a trip across Nam to the west coast.

Thanks guys, feeling welcome already! The farm is Okaputa, a relatively well known farm with an airstrip, approx 1 km of usable strip. Near Otjiwarongo to the north.
Okaputa when translated from one of the native languages means a fork in a tree. Seems kind of dodgy to me.
About the trike, I haven't had much trike flying experiences in my life, but the midge seems quite nimble, to my surprise. I am very happy with it, just looking for a decent flight school near Wierdapark.
Regards
