I have my Chinese Distributor out so this morning we went for a Balloon flip with Gary Mortimer up in the Natal Midlands. Tommorrow morning I am planning to have my instructor give him a flip over Tala Valley (maybe I can also get some flying time in?) and Sunday is a family lunch with my mother-in-law
Monday I am free to fly again.

Staying in East London over the week-end.....The wind today (Friday) was lousy, so decided not to fly although I wanted to take a guest from the USA on a sortie......

Then to make matters worse, my fuel bowser sprung a leak....(faulty o-ring seal) and over the past two days about 430 litres of Avgas drained away.....at just over R8 per litre, I was not charmed !!!! Oh well, it happens....and to cap it, there is no Avgas available till the 24th.....

Just got back from FF's field - said hi to her. We were supposed to go for a flip in my mate's Vagabond, but the weather conspired against us. Decided to talk some k@k around the a/c and do some maintenance on the suspension instead.

spent 2 nights at the G/F's brothers farm in the Fort nottingham area, played mid-wife, helped pull 3 calves, then went to the winterton area with the G/F, and brother and partner, and 5 dogs. Did abit of drinking, and lots of relaxing. not sad that I didn't fly, cause apparently the wx has been shite.

Friday took my daughter whho was down from JHb for a nice beach flying experience, we saw seals, surfers, CLU-less tried to film us without battery power on his camera.

Saturday I had GR8-dad, and a potential(looks like confirmed) new flyer Eugene (not on the forum yet) pop in at Morning Star. After a few flips, taking them, plus Morne for a flip we settled down to a few well deserved beers. Later a lovely lady arrived and asked us if we wouldn't mind taking her for a flip. Since CLU-less was the only one who didn't have anything to drink he had the pleasure  We wondered why the flight took so long

Anyway, great day.

The rest of the weekend the wind howled

Back from 5 lekker days at Ekuthuleni outside Hoedspruit. Went on a game walk, drinking in the sun, swimming, saw all the ruckby matches on Saturday on TV, did some quad biking, and lots of braaivleis on the banks of the Olifants River.

Saw a nice Bonnie ZS-LFC (if i recall) at Hippo Pools next door to us - couldn't find the pilot/owner - wanted to bum a joy ride Ah well..

We went on a glider camp to Thabazimbe -it was FANTASTIC- flying in the slope lift along the waterburg- We took the 170 and the glider- We had about 9 gliders from our club and about 20 peaple- I logged about 8 hours glider time and about 5 on the 170- It would make a fantastic venue for a micro flyin- The flying club there put in a huge efort to make us welcome and there are a lot of safari camps in the area for acomadation- The scenary flying around there is very good
