Oh Man, ## Oh Man ## Oh Man

This was one of my worst landings ever ## ## ## (or shall I say, a real SH*T landing) ^^.^ ^^.^

Can tell u guys, as the back wheels touch the ground this teeny whiney spot of dung   became this huge mountain of cow SH*T   and as the law of attraction worked it out the front wheel touched down +- 0.5 meters in front of this DUNG.

Needles to say the curtain of flying/spraying Dung in front of the trike was UMUNGUS and then I slipped thru it, as if there was nothing wrong. ^?^ ^?^

For the first time in 6 years. I hated one of my own landings,

Grostek I don’t think 2 l would have help at that time, 200 l sound better, it took me almost 3 hours at Wintervogel to clean the trike and the flying overall had its half yearly wash as well .

But all in all a good days flying

Flying from Wintervogel with a moderate Westerly wind blowing.

Do you guys fly if the winds are coming from the west - lets say 6-9 knts? Taking off from the down slope looks to be no problem, but I have never seen anyone trying to land on the down slope...? And with a 9knts wind a down wind landing will be a bit fast. Best to come in cross wind on runway 20 then?

Thanks
Karl

Hi Karl,

Landing with a moderate westerly can be a bit tricky, but you should find it tends to be WNW, so use 02 with the cross wind component. We have landed on the down slope of the cross runway, take the slope into consideration and all is ok. Dont float too long, otherwise you run out of runway. (**) (**) (**)
This weekend should be good, after all the rain, although John and I managed an hour between squals on Wednesday. vhpy vhpy

Rusty
