Funny things you hear from new pilots

Postby Morph » Mon Oct 09, 2006 3:15 pm

Now all of us have started somewhere and have been known to say the funniest or stupidest things. I mean this aviation speak is confusing in the beginning.

At the WCMC competition the other day one of the new students was walking around with his mates. CLU-less was taxing down to the runway to start the next leg of the competition and this guy turns to his mates and with authority says

"There goes CLU-less, he is named after his plane's registration number Charley Lima Universe"

Later they were walking up to the Hangars and as he passes a plane he again says with authority, "Guys this is a Bush Baby" which is nice but this one happened to be SA Flyer's C182

 Shame, guess we all can say stupid things, It's the guys that think they so clever and believe they so clever when they actualy know nothing that irritate me

Yip reminds me, when I started my MPL and dreamed of flying a Sahara 583......not a Safari 582 :D

Gave the instructors a good laugh

Hey Dreamer, what is so difficult about this? If you read between the lines it says that the wx was probably not ideal to take grandma up for a flip in the Jhb area on the 13th... Also some stuff in there suggesting that it would have been a bad idea to play golf on that day with a graphite driver.....

Back on topic,

When I started flying trikes I asked around as to what the danger, and effect of a bird strike would be in these “lighter” a/c ………..

One of the oldies looked at me, scratched his chin and said after a pause – Well, that would depend on whether or not the bird was in its nest at the time…...
