License renewal

Postby Turbo » Tue Jul 01, 2014 10:02 pm

How many of you have had a license renewal recently? I did mine over the weekend

Oom Paul made me sweat for the license renewal, but i wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I made one mistake out of the 5 simulated engine outs he made me do - which was probably the easiest one - cut the motor above the air field at 1500AGL.

i turned my back on the runway for a second - FAIL!!!! But i knew where the runway was - his response - "You know where this runway is, but if you were in Hoedspruit where you frequent, and you spot an opening in the forest somewhere and you turn your back and loose it for a second - you might not find it again!" and so i agreed, but passed none the less.

Let me tell you -- the radio work had to be 100% or else i would have failed completely -- I wonder how many instructors are strict as Oom Paul is on radio work in a license renewal? I only have good things to say about OOM PAUL KINSLEY -- he is by far one of the best instructors i have ever had the privilege of flying with and learning from. (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^)

Great to hear, but why not put up some contact details for Oom Paul?
