Brett

I think you are not telling the whole truth here. I would say you fly for a living and manufacture tow bars in your spare time. Same as with Mr. Mark Hudson. Work is his hobby

Cheers. Will be in you neck of the woods December so we must go get a beer (^^)

I am a mushroom farmer. We pay money for chicken shit, import mud from Europe, employ a 1000 woman with knives and spend most of the time in the dark. As the bean counter i normally just walk backwards into the future talking about the past.

Hi James, great to hear from you on the forum. Thanks again for hosting my Savannah when Gavin and I got stuck in that crazy wind in May. Can't wait to fly back there and visit your beatiful place again. Cheers Willem

Hi Willem , look forward to seeing you down this way again soon. Hoping that the weather will be kinder this time!!! (**)

Robbie,
As I have mentioned in the microland tailwinds thread, I work offshore Brasil, as an Instrument and control systems supervisor on board an oil production vessel, known as a FPSO. Unfortunately not my first choice as a career, as aircraft and all aspects avionic are my passion. I started off in 1978 as an aircraft instrumentation apprentice in the South African Airforce, qualified in 1980 and served in 42 Squadron, AFB Potchefstroom. maintaining avionics on Bosbok AMC3m aircraft. I served with this squadron during the Angolan/ SWA bush war, then joined Atlas Aircraft corporation to further expand my career, installing avionic systems on the Cheetah production line, including Mirage F1 instrumentation maintenance. Best years of my life!! (^^) Then....ANC took over, bang went the airforce, Atlas, and all things worthy of my interest  I ended up with industrial instrumentation, first with Sasol, now Brasil.....just not the same as aircraft  My beloved Aquilla 582 and great kameraderie found with fellow aviators soothes the longing for the air force years :) With the next microland braai we can have a lekker chat! (^^)

Should be a piece of cake compared to an F1! (^^)

Sounds like you have quite a few stories to share with us Andries...cant wait to hear them over a cold one. vhpy

Oh Mr ME109 --- ooohhh Mr ME109 .....

I have a Navion 3 times my age, which i am rebuilding with the utmost respect and care ... the avionics are as old as the plane, and require some attention ... and verification as to service ability. Could you help please? Where are you and when can i bring the radio, transponder and AH to you for a seeing to?

Its either this or i have to pay stupid money again for a modern electronic upgrade which i really dont want to do right now.....
