Ja, it's been 6 weeks (feels like a lot longer), but now I have beautiful instruments and no more wobbly pedals. Was worth the effort. And thanks again for the flight-suit! Very nice in these temperatures!

You're pushing my Afrikaans beyond its limits, I'm afraid :)

Cheers,

V.

You gotta fly when you gotta fly!!

Postby Barryathome » Mon Mar 07, 2011 11:30 am

V experienced an engine out en route to Yzerfontein on Saturday, and made a safe landing in a pasture just west of Darling Cellar. His two hangarmates landed to give support and recorded this ultra-low, ultra slow fly-by in the process of getting the trike to a spot where it could be conveniently de-rigged and trailered for return to Diemers for a decent check.

The support shown by the farmers and passersby were phenomenal and we really appreciate the offers of help - and the three ice-cold beers presented to us by a local farmer. We will return the hospitality with flips as much as these folk want as soon as we have V's Windlass airworthy again!!!

The last few weeks you braai at Diemers by just being there!
We will give autumn a wee chance and then arrange to braai something edible.

Many thanks to Barry and Jaco again for all the assistance on Saturday! ZS-WHM will be back in the skies soon, it just depends how quick I can get the required parts. We can celebrate with an authentic Hungarian goulash party, if you like. :)

Cheers,

V.

No sweat V. It's what hangarmates do.
Well, it was a sweat, but that is what happens if you run a trike across a pasture and down a road on a hot summers day!!
Main objective is to get WHM back in the air so we can make it to FASD in one hop.
