Hi JJJ

I would think that our routing would be from Cape Town to Oranjemund .... a bit of a "druk" for the first day but immigration is CT and then Oranjemund.
Then on to Luderitz & Swakopmund the next day.... along the coast.

To go via Keetman's would probably suit those coming from Gauteng and the like.
I would love to meet up with you guys ... what about Meob Bay or Sesriem area?

Hi charl
Sorry man I thought you guys also make use of Keetmanshoop. I think we meet in Swakopmund and try to fly from there. If closer to the time we can make more arrangements to maybe meet at Sesriem or so.
Nice aircraft the CTSW. I always wanted one but a little expensive

Hi Guys,

Great to hear so many South Africans are planning to attend the Omaruru Fly Inn.

I don't want to "P" on your batteries or want to be drip (excuse the pun), but do you have overflight clearances in place as issued by Namibian DCA?
Usually no-one asks but there have been incidents where, especially at immigration, guys where send straight back from where they came.......... = home!

If you want me to assist, mail me hannos@agra.com.na or phone me +264 81 127 5689.
I will forward you a form to complete and return to me to submit.

regards

Nice foto anyway.
En dankie vir al die liaison effort wat jy met die SA ouens doen.

Sien jou in Omaruru.

Hi Hanno

I personally have been to Nam many times in the past, mainly with my C210. so I know the ropes regarding L&O clearances. I have also been there in my trike as well as the CT.
Have things changed regarding overflight & landing clearances for NTCA?

Hi Charl,

The question is: have you had a overflight clearance in place at your numerous previous visits to Nam? If YES, then nothing have changed since.
If you didn't have a clearance in place, then you have just been lucky and so have many others. But, many other haven't been so lucky and as I have mentioned in my post, they were sent straight home. It all depends on the individual who potentially confronts you. If he/she knows their stuff, you are in trouble.

It might be that you can apply upon arrival but if you intend passing through a border post, then you are stuffed(sometimes :-)).

I'll enquire in any case about the rules and regs tomorrow and post soon after.

JJJ, you are more than welcome to contact me.

Keep well.

Hi Hanno

That's fine. I am just inquiring if things have changed of late.

On another note and for those in the Omaruru area .. I am not sure if you know that Martine Sacoun (Andre's wife) passed away yesterday morning. I saw him here in Cape Town last night and convinced him to join on the trip up.

Martine will be sadly missed.

Cheers
