How are they doing at the Nationals

Postby The Agent » Thu Mar 05, 2009 6:48 pm

I know some of the lads have gone down to Ladysmith for the nationals was just wondering how much wind was blowing there as here in Kempton the wind was pumping.

And of course how the competition was going. (^^)

Spoke to Hendrik last night, had completed 2 tasks and many more lined up for the next few days. Seems like a low turnout, 12 entries??

Good luck to all of you, C'mon Skin - make Petit proud

Just spoke to Skin's navigator. They are in 5th place at the moment. Seems like they having a good time, but it's hard work.

No kidding on the wind this morning. 35 mph. we were playing around a bit and had the cheetah standing still in the air. Full flaps - 4900 rpm - nose up and it just hangs there at 40 mph indicated on airspeed indicator 8 mph ground speed and climbing at 180 ft/min. Was fun. Landings - well if you needed x-wind practise this morning was superb. It was REAL busy close to the ground and you sit and look at the runway through the right window on final. Was fun. I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the birds was a bit busy and we killed a 'kiewietjie' with wing strut on the last landing. Totally unsuitable for trikes though this morning.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

Damn, was planning on driving up on Saturday to go and spend the night there. Numbers are low but may still do it.

Cheers guys and good luck (^^) (^^)

That hill behind the airfield is what we had to run up(opvoks) in my basics in National Service in 1985.

Hope to see you guys,
