Re: Flying faster

I had a 503 windless a few years ago that I bought second-hand. It cruised at 70 mph  I hated it because of the wind rush and I prefer to fly slowly and watch the world go by... I took the battens out of the wing and realized that they had been re-profiled significantly flatter than the origi...

Re: Pilot fined R12 000 for low-flying

I really can’t believe that there are people that are trying to justify this clearly illegal action The laws are crystal clear and this idiot broke them knowing full well what he was doing. This is not about scuba diving or military training exercises this is about a complete “box” who by breaking t...

Re: Pilot fined R12 000 for low-flying

Caneco you are a real tonsil ($$) ($$) – this has nothing to do with the high crime rate except for the fact that if this idiot did not break the law the judicial system could have been busy with something more important. Its disrespectful pilots like this that give us all a bad name VIVA the guy th...

Re: Topless Jenya Wing ATF

Hey JCH Congratulations on getting your licence and good luck sorting the wing out! I know this is off topic, but I though I would add my 2c because you never can be too safe… I would recommend that out of respect to your passengers and yourself you should do the next 25 or so hour solo, taking pass...

Re: The best weather for flying microlight

I agree with BOATCH Pyramid airfield in Barberton is perfect… The accommodation is good and well priced with excellent facilities, temporary hangerage can be arranged, and a great launching pad to see the sites of the eastern trasvaal such as Gods window, Kruger Park etc and if the wx is not good, t...

Re: Crop Sprayers

As far as I am aware if you are operating outside of controlled airspace and below 1000 agl the law does not require the use of a radio…

So do like police file and keep em peeled!

Re: Reducing engine noise

Guys, perhaps I was not clear enough, I want to reduce the engine noise for the pilot and passenger… I have a really good air-magic intercom and headsets, but the engine noise is still too loud for my liking! Could an aftermarket silencer do the trick, or should I try get a completely different exha...

Re: HD PVR

Hi TIH I have had one since October last year… The HD picture will blow your mind if the program is really HD, the nature programs and things like CSI are excellent. My only complaints are: The system is not stable and there seem to be a few bugs in the software that despite numerous software update...

Re: Pilgrims Rest

Hi Gavin

Those co-ordinates are for FAPO, I understand that that strip is about 14km outside of town...

Have you been there?

I am looking for a small microlight strip near the caravan park...

Cheers

Re: Help – my Windlass is too fast!!!

Hey micro buffs I managed to take my wing down this weekend to have a look at the batten profiles Most of them were very far from what they should have been  I set them all back according to the chart (from solo wings) and did a few high-speed taxi runs to ensure that there wasn’t a violent t...
