Re: How do you loosen tyres from aluminium rims?

You are trying to break the bead seating. We have this often on the bikes. One of the easiest ways to remove the bike tyre is to use the side-stand and the bikes weight to lever the tyre down and break the bead. Alternatively, we have used the backup vehicle to drive over the tyre which also breaks ...

Re: BMW Engines Which one ?

BMW did away with the single cylinder 650 Rotax manufactured engine, in 2007. This was replaced, in 2008, by a new parrallel-twin cylinder (also developed by Rotax), and features on the 800s race bike, 800ST (sports tourer), the 800GS and the new 650GS. In the three former guises, the engine puts ou...

Re: HELP Needed

You mention that the Gyro is in Stellenbosch. In Cape Town, one of the BMW Club members owns a business that does wrapping. He's charging me R5500 to cover my Tucson, including design and fitting. Send me a PM and I'll send you his details if Cape Town is suitable. Our comms systems are able to inte...

Re: Starcom1 -Advanced Communications System

Sadly no, the headsets that fit to the helmets use a 7-pin connector, although I will investigate if we can manufacture a junction box which converts and lets you plug the helmet into your Buzzcom system.

Re: New to weight shift in Cape Town

Shaun,

Your story is a mirror of my own. This past weekend I visited and met the chaps at Morningstar. Great bunch, great knowledge and experience and certainly a bunch who CAN fly in a slightly windy day!

We'll share answers and probably progress along a similar level. (^^)

Cheers

Morningstar Introduction - big nuts and cold beer!

I too visited the Morningstar field yesterday where I met a whole bunch of really excellent people. Several beers warmed the friendship and at 16h00, I realised I had better get home to Flower of the North. Was great fun listening to stories of flight and ownership, touring and living the microlight...

Re: Starcom1 -Advanced Communications System

The final option is the APACHE. In Matt Silver or Black, the APACHE is extremely popular due to the extra long visor which gives almost full-face protection. The APACHE retails for R 1100 incl vat and delivery.
