Re: 582 in a Windlass

Klink na n bargain, sou minder kos om elke keer Aliwal toe te ry en daar te vlieg as om my trike hier te hanger. Ek is nie baie gepla oor teer runways nie, ek spandeer nie baie tyd op die runway nie!

Re: 582 in a Windlass

Carel I agree on that, but the more you spend on it now, the more you gonna loose once you decide to sell it. I had exactly the same windlass which I sold 8 years ago to buy an Aquilla and the Aquilla I sold recently with only 180 hrs on the engine and Airframe for less than the value of a new engin...

Re: 582 in a Windlass

Hi Carel My modest opinion is, to sell it and upgrade rather than a 582, I do not think an engine replacement will cost you much less than what you have to pay in on a faster trike after selling your Windlass. If you replace the engine you will only get a better rate of climb but your speed is depen...

Re: Trike payloads at Gauteng density altitudes

Hi RV In my opinion the Aquilla with a 503 is a definate no go at that altitude, the 582 will be fine, remember too much power is just enough! I had an Aquilla in Bloem at 4500ft and with 2 adults and 50ltrs of fuel it is not an easy task to get it airborne on a summers day. Ive once flown a Aerotri...

I agree, this in my opinion must be compulsory for all new trikers (and maybe for some of the old ones too).

Re: How to rig & de-rig the Aquilla II Wing ?

Hi Eagle I am not sure what your reason is for de-rigging the wing but if it is to trailer your trike somewhere else I will recommend that you get the help of someone that has done it more than once in the past to wrap it up wit lots of cloth around the hangblock and the screws on the trapeze bar et...

Re: Advice on commuter aeries?

Hi Piet I am in the same situation, the aircraft that will suit my needs I can not afford and the aircraft that I can afford is so damn slow that every time after I have landed I have to wash the insects of the rear window because they are flying into me from behind. (Apologies to the Cheetahs and S...
