First Trike Flight in Antarctica?
Hi, Christof and his trike flew from the brand new Belgian Elisabeth Base in Utsteinen, Antarctica. He was asked to fly with a famous art fotographer to make some aerial fotographs of giant posters laid out around the base. Nothing much interesting except that it was a unique opportunity to fly in A...

Yes DF is right. I have flown many brands of trikes and must say that AC is the strongest trike I have ever seen. AC is using very big safety margins compared to other manufacturers. It makes the trike a bit heavier and a bit slower than the rest but we have seen test landings by a test pilot in the...

Hi Guy's,
I own one of these. There is a new model slightly modified for noise reasons. There is a short description and pictures on my site.

Hi Scribbles, I called Karl and he says he received 2 issues. He also confirmed that you called him to ask if he received the last issue. My apologies for my remarks on outdated information. I should have checked the current info with him before posting my comments. Thanks for checking with Karl per...

VX7
Ok on the 857. I have one here but didn't use it much yet. I was once playing with the idea to install it on my trike but it might be over the top  . I have a build in Filtzer radio for the Airband. But the 857 might be great to try HF on the trike and I could put a 20m dipole in the wing. Well...

Whoops.....the previous message has been sent unfinished. Rudi i see that you are quite a active Ham as well. Maybe we will meet one day on the air. I'm off to the Alps on Sunday for a week of trikeflying there. Here in Belgium the weather is not good enough and the country is too flat for some exit...

Hi Rudi,
Yes that's what i was thinking as well. Yaesu used to have a real multiband handheld radio but I think they stopped to make it.
Not enough buyers I gues.
I see that

Hi there,
I already had a look at the VX7 but didnt know its also transmitting on the Air Bands. Usually these Ham radio handhelds only receive.
I will certainly have a closer look at it.
Thanks for the info.

Magazine
Hmmm, strange. I asked my friend Karl in Winterton to take a subscription for me and bring the mag with him if he comes to Belgium every two months. The price to ship the mag was as high as the subscription itself. Thats why we did it that way. He paid and never got any magazines. I complained via e...

Thanks for posting a picture of my Tanarg here Cobra! I'm in the front and Peter is in the back. We are preparing for a take off from the Altisurface of Roche Mayeres in the French Alps. They filmed here for a James Bond movie but I don't remember which one. If anyone of you ends up in Brussels one ...

GPSmap 296
Hi Guy's, I have a 296 and it's really worth the money. The avmap looks grate as well but for a trike I still prefer the 296. No interference on my panel mounted Filser radio at all. But the radio antenne is not near the GPS of course. In a 3-axis the Avmap might be my choice. Don't forget if you wa...

Strong Trike
Hi Guy's I had a good look at the DTA trikes in Blois France last September. Indeed very well built. If you want some info in English there is a good webpage from the US dealer. http://www.adventuresportaircraft.com/html/dta.html There are also a few good close ups of the voyageur 2 on my website un...
