Re: MGL Xtreme EFIS
Just got wind of this thread so here is some info from the horses mouth: The XTreme does not include the RDAC. The reason for this is there are different models and you need to choose one to suit your engine. The one for the typical Rotax is the RDAC VD and its pretty cheap at R852 inclusive of VAT....

Whatever you do, don't buy a place to stay right away.
Rent and then take all the time in the World to pick a place.
Lot's to choose from.

Happy birthday to the Kitties    Amper se ek iets ':- ':- ':- Sadly, they are no more. Mish made it to a proud 21, Lucy lost out to an infection despite the Vets best efforts and Gypsey, true to her name, disappeared a few months ago at an advanced age. We still have three cats...

MGL Avionics is 10 years old today
Today, February the 8th 2001, exactly 10 years ago, MGL Avionics was incorporated. MGL was founded about two years after I built my first small EFIS for a microlight trike I was flying at the time. The first avionics developed long before that was an airborne mono-pulse low frequency radar system de...

Re: Microlights (Trikes) in Mauritius
Forget it. The Mauritian authorities are some of the most GA unfriendly on the planet. Many have tried to get something going, all have failed. Some frenchy got the furthest anf fought in the courts all the way until he found his pride and joy cut up into little pieces one day... I'm afraid you'll j...

Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI
Have you flown behind a G2 yet ? That's even more impressive (even for me and I made the damn thing), managed to squuuueze two G2 Voyagers into my trusty Jora. With AP of course, hardly fly anymore, just do the take off and landing and then hand over to "crystal" our new (slightly sexy) female EFIS ...

Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI
My, my,... Do my tired eyes see quite right ? Is that really Boet flying with a smile behind an MGL EFIS ? Congrats, spoke to Oupa just now, seems he loves his new autopilot (not sure if it's the one in the vansin or the bushy). Been a long, long hard slog to get the AP to be the best in the World, ...

Re: MGL Avionics new EFIS baby is shipping...
Holy-moly, more than full-house instrumentation AND GPS for under R7000 in a single package! I'm off to measure my pod and see how I could fit this baby now! (Erm, over the weekend that is ...) Rainer, could you please give an idea of the pricing of sensors/probes? - would I need the RDAC for RPM, ...

Re: MGL Avionics new EFIS baby is shipping...
I'm hoping that our new RDAC units will be available in 3-4 months from now. They actually have been developed a while back but we put them on hold to make R&D time available to develop our new autopilot servos (which took a lot longer and a lot more money than I ever thought they would). Rainier Ho...

Re: MGL Avionics new EFIS baby is shipping...
Does it have any map (or other 'normal' gps) capabilities? ....................and is it helicopter friendly? Whirly. Yes, except for Rotor RPM. This however will be added as soon as our next generation engine monitoring modules are available (in development now) as these have an input for a Rotor ...

Re: MGL Avionics new EFIS baby is shipping...
Does it have any map (or other 'normal' gps) capabilities? No, not yet. This is scheduled for the first firmware update soon (free download from our website and easy install). We are not yet certain about maps but it is likely that a basic moving map system will be available. Of course, normal GPS ...

Re: MGL Avionics new EFIS baby is shipping...
Does it fit in a standard cutout and can it work without the AHRS? What is total cost with probes for 4 cylinder engine? Am hoping it will replace the A/H so I don't need the Vac pump any more.... Costs almost same as this just to O/H it every 4 years....    . Can 1 use any...
