Re: Farewell Henk...

Devastating news....Henk, your thirst for adventure was an inspiration to us all.
Will never forget the memorable experiences we all shared in Inhaca Island just two months ago.
Until one day my good friend.

Re: The New klip River Airfield

Landed a Samba on RNW 20 on Sat and was pleasantly suprised as to how smooth and neat the RNW was. (^^)
It is obvious that the Klip boys are trying hard to bring the field back to life.
Now all we need is Mr Caneco to organise a fly-in/breakfast.

Stephan van Tonder wrote:Nice install there mike. IS the engine management on that one the bosch original or also from take-off?.
The engine management on this one is straight out of a R1100S " Bosch" The wiring harness was made by Take-off to suit the instalation.

Re: BMW GS1200 motor

Here`s some photos of a Raptor with a Take-off Box and fuel system. This motor is from an R100S. On a trip to Moz. we averaged 7.4Lt / Hr while the 582 Cobra was burning 17Lt / Hr The new R1200GS motor is fitted with an internal balancing shaft and it is turbine smooth. "Take off " also supplies a d...

....... can't believe I fell for that one! Don,t feel bad, at least you were a good sports. In the U.S. and the E.U. 2 stroke engines have been banned due to stringent emission regulations. I think that 582 production will soon cease. The good news is that Rotax will be underpressure to repl...

At first I fitted one but under hard climbing with a pax and full tank, the oil
temp used to climb up to 120 deg. Now it runs on two oil coolers and it runs perfect, also remember, unlike the Rotax 912 this engine has got a oil thermostat so that it never runs too cold.

I did the installation of this brand new BMW 1100cc / 100Hp on this raptor. Manfred Springer did the mountings and brackets. It runs on a digital fuel injection (BOSH DME ) and it uses 7.4Lt per hour. It has a electronic altitude compensator for the ignition timing and fuel mixture. we have had zero...
