11 Hours Under the belt!!! (Double Figures!!)
Hi,
My parents have finally allowed me to start my MPL
Took them a while but finally...
I will be staring next term with Louis an Wyk of Aerosport!
I am not 16 yet so we will be doing it as on-the-job training! (Just my syle)
I will keep this topic updated so you can all see my progress...
I can't stop smiling!
Regards
Ross

No, my parents don't fly. That's why it took so long to convince them.

Re: Training Time!!!
I look forward to hearing about your progress
I believe you said you wanted to learn to fly a trike? Are you thinking of making a career of flying??
If so you may want to consider training on a 3-axis plane.

Re: Training Time!!!
I went for my first training flight on Tuesday!!!
Although my training officially starts in 3 weeks, went to FAFK and went up!
Louis taught me how to do the pre-flight.
Then we flew (Well I took off, landed and flew) to Blouberg beach and back!
We tried stalls, starting with a basic stall and then progressing to something just before a spin!
It was a great flight and Louis said, as he had before, I was a natrual!
The best day of my life to date!

Re: Training Time!!!
I was about 14/15 when I cycled from Durbanville to Fisantekraal every Sunday to go watch the aeries, and it was my dream to fly, but couldn't afford it then - ol Del Collusi was till doing training in a Cub, think it was about R55/hour (shit, costs has rissen a lot in a mere 20 years ). Stood there for hours and then cycled back - didn't have the plakkerskamp back then, so was perfectly safe to do it.
Anyway, good luck, you are priviliged to start at this age, I had to wait for 20 years - go for it and enjoy!!!!
O ja - BTW - ons was almal naturals vir 30 ure+ Oom Louis will make sure he gets his pound of meat...

Re: Training Time!!!
Its nice to see your enthusiasim Trikenut.
You are among many of all ages here who enjoy it just as much as you do. Basop! this bug bites hard.
33 years, more than 5000 hours on about a dozen different types and I still cant get rid of the itch.
The interesting thing is that I learn some thing new on just about every flight, it just never gets boring.
Enjoy and above all, fly safe.

Re: Training Time!!!
It's a good feeling isn't it, can remember my first flight in the front seat like it was yesterday.
Gotta be honest though, hate doing the stalls, i practise them almost every time i fly, but still don't like the feeling

Well done Ross All the best with your training, it is great to see someone so young going after a dream. Please keep us up to date with your progress.
It is interesting that when a man is older and supposedly wiser he has to ask the wife for permission which is generally a harder nut to crack than parents. So good on you Ross Now I wish I had started when I was a teenager
