TAIL RIPPED MYSTERY SOLVED-NEW PIC
TAIL RIPPED MYSTERY SOLVED-NEW PIC
There was a deep scribe mark along the centre of the tube -removed the paint (from inboard to outboard) The aircraft is brand new . After dwelling over the matter 24/7 since Saturday i now know what happened , but have no proof, so will put the matter to bed. For those who were supportive - THANKS - not lakker when your brand new half a million rand aerie is bumped by another aerie being maouvered (the guy turned his aerie-low wing much heavier than mine- around to face the runway)

Look carefully at the aluminium, if it was cut with a blade you will see the scratch marks on the metal.

With the limited info I dear to say it does not look like a deliberate tear.

Re: TAIL RIPPED COULD THIS BE INTENTIONAL
The aluminium was deeply scribed all along the pipe in a strait deep line , the mystery is that - im sure i would have noticed it before i took off from aviators as the damage was on my side of the aerie , so i dont know.....maybe it did happen whilst airborn. Im not accusing , I AM WONDERING and questioning the mystery of it all. The aerie is a few months old so the integrity of the skins is 100 %

Re: TAIL RIPPED MYSTERY SOLVED-NEW PIC
With all due respect why did you not do a pre-flight as is required by law? Even if it is not a written law we all know that we must do this! Not a good reflection at all. Secondly what kind of "quality" aircraft is so expensive that the material tears so easily??? What aircraft is it because I never want to go near oneSuesing wrote:On Saturday i flew to the Aviators Paradise opening. Morning Sue.
I always treat fly in's like shopping center parking lots. I park my plane as far away from the crowds as possible. You always get the idiot that can't keep his hands off your plane.
I now use a torch and my hands as a guide when I do my preflight because I've missed a thing or two in the past. The eyes alone can be deceiving sometimes.
See you at the next Kitty Hawk.
