CAUTIONARY: High-level winds could cause bumpy conditions alongside the Magaliesberg. High-level winds are predominantly WEST, so should not cause rotor effect on the Magaliesberg, running east/west. Anticipate a slightly extended take-off roll on both mornings due to a light southerly wind.
Weather Flying Tip: Especially with tailwind take-offs use the 70%/50% rule! Be at 70% of your take-off speed at 50% of the runway, OR ELSE ABORT!

Re: Magaliesberg Weather Guide
Just some feedback on the weather today . . . .
So, NOT as predicted, the weather at Aeroden this morning was TERRIBLE . . . with the wind 5 gusting 28 knots and from ALL DIRECTIONS!!!!
What was really peculiar is that on the southern side of the Magalies northern ridge (where I live) it was WIND FREE!!
Anyway, I went for a nice long breakfast with a friend of mine and eventually took off at 12.30 for a VERY LEKKER flight around the dam!
SO . . . . no matter what 'the weatherman' says, ALWAYS do your own final checks, both online AND at the airfield!
Let's keep it safe guyz!!
