Re: Magaliesberg Weather
Hi John,
Nice to see someone always checking the weather. It's a pity you not at FABA.....I would phone you at 4AM instead of the MET office!
You should move this thread to the MET section?
I hopw the low cloud stays away so you can make it through to FAKT on Sat.

Re: Magaliesberg Weather
Hey Alan! A great pleasure! I'm looking forward to Saturday. That low-cloud looks manageable. The only possible challenge in flying from Aeroden will be getting out and back over the two Magaliesberg ridges but knowing the necks and passes it shouldn't be a challenge. See you there!Bundy wrote:Hi John,

Re: Magaliesberg Weather
Greetings All!!
It looks as if Kitty Hawk remains IMC with cloud sitting at 500ft AGL.
Here is the weather station report, showing 1 degree between temp and dewpoint!
Kittyhawk Ai
13 Oct 05:45
Wind:WSW M241 0-0kph,0-0kts
Temp:13C
Hum:93%
QNH:1023mb RIS
Dewpoint:12C
CU Height:454ft
D.Alt:4181ft
Sunrise-05:34
Sunset-18:12
Even Aeroden is non-flyable, with the weather station report as follows:
Aeroden Airf
13 Oct 04:54
Wind:ESE T111 2-8kph,1-4kts
Temp:15C
Hum:58%
QNH:1022mb FAL
Dewpoint:7C
CU Height:3368ft
D.Alt:3953ft
Sunrise-05:37
Sunset-18:14
Although the report shows cloud base at 3953ft, sitting at the airfield sipping coffee I can assure you it is also around 500ft.
So at least for me the FAKT fly-in is a no-go! Also, FAWK would want you to maintain 6,500ft through Pinedene, which would simply not be possible!
Safe Skies!
