Que Sera - Nov 11

Postby pietmeyer » Tue Nov 11, 2008 5:46 am

Hi Guys

Anybody here flown to Que Sera just outside of Bapsfontein area? Aparently it is a restaurant where Microlights and bikers can get breakfast. I am planning a flight there this Saturday for coffee. Land on the old road next to the public road. Any advice when flying there?

Hi Pieter

I've seen it from the ground and the air. I think it might be tricky with a cross wind and the trees to the one side are daunting but there is ample space .Nice breakfast though..... R50.00.

All Flying buddies invited! Seeing that there is nothing formally planned this weenk-end. Lets go fly. If we can not make it there, we can always change our mind and fly somewhere else.
McFly, I see the avatar has changed. Nice pic, could not find anything funny to say on this one other than "nice aerie"

McFly

If the weather plays along, we can leave here at about 05:30am. Let's meet at Microland and from there fly to Que Sera or what do you think? Wonder where we can get contact info for Que Sera just to check what time it opens etc.

Hi there!

Que Sera does have a decent breakfast! Take that from the Springs Gang! I would suggest going on Sunday when they prepare for the bikers! Dont know what happens there on Sat! Take-off and landing can become difficult on some days as the runway has n very steep slope! I would advise you not to land from the South (downhill)! This venue is one way in, one way out! Land from the North (Uphill over the trees) and take-off from the South!!! Be carefull for "airpockets" if you have a slight tailwing coming over the trees on landing! Crosswinds also a bit of a problem for the newer pilots as the tar strip is a bit narrow!!!

Otherwise a piece of Cake and one fine breakfast!!!!!! Enjoy

I'm in! the number is:0834683626

Affirm! They're open on Saturday for Brekkie. So!.............if the weather is fine we'll visit Que Sera. Spread the word!

I have just measured the runway. +- 300 m no abort space. Might be tight!

Thanks Sukkelaar but I'm in Durbs for the weekend next week. Maybe we should arrange a fly out sometime. Would be nice to meet some of the Springs Guys...........moved from there 10 years ago after living there for 40 yrs. I understand that Dunnottar air base is being used for GF. Is this true?.......if so...must be nice to fly to....or what?
