Tedderfield "Fly-In" Carnival

Postby Richard Stubbs » Sat Jun 28, 2008 10:45 am

TEDDERFIELD AIRPARK
“FLY-IN”
AIR CARNIVAL
SATURDAY, 19th JULY 2008.

Tedderfield Air Park (FATA) is hosting a fly-in air carnival on Saturday 19 July 2008 that is hoped will become a regular annual event.

Any aviation enthusiast keen to avoid paying the entrance fee of R 30.00 per vehicle - by actually “FLYing– In” can participate in the customary “you name it big bang for the buck breakfast” from 08:00 onwards. Of course various lunch menu options are available and naturally a beer tent is on our draft for those to arrive grounded. Tedderfield Air Park has also arranged “branded” cap sponsorship to the first 50 pilots to make a full stop landing.

There are going to be several stalls with a range of items for sale, not to mention other aircraft manufacturer, dealer exhibits & private aircraft sales plus a host of other attractions not forgetting a jumping castle for those who wish to escape their children briefly! Other attractions that are on the cards will include: -

Helicopter flips.
A Haley Davidson “lifestyle” community visit.
A parachute drop arranged by our safety officer, Mr. Denis Southby.
Motorcycle sales and demonstrations arranged by Sam Blake (Our visitor from Chicago and avid flying enthusiast)

Tedderfield Air Park which obtained its registration last year has a first rate 1200m tar runway that copes well with larger GA type aircraft, there being a resident Barron (hanger 33) & also a Beech 1900 that visits regularly. Gordon Howell (our well respected, well preserved and very senior member) has enthusiastically campaigned local business and community support to ensure that no one goes home hungry and that there will be something of interest for all who attend.

Netcare have been contacted with a view of having an emergency chopper available and the local Fire brigade has been asked to bring along their shiny red fire truck! Marshals, air and ground will be on call so please pay careful attention to them on arrival - particularly when parking your aircraft in the demarcated areas as directed.

Breakfast was great and there was a nice turn out this morning....

I received an awesome bag of goodies - while getting a coffee inside with Beetlejuice from Rietfontein at about 11am, my bag of goodies disappeared from the table outside....

Anyone taking it by mistake or ending up with 2 bags please pm me....I was really looking forward to keeping the leatherman in my Cheetah for any emergencies and using the nice cap included in the bag

Thanks guys

Tedderfield "Fly-In" Carnival

Postby Frootbat » Mon Jul 21, 2008 11:33 am

I can only second what was said already............What a magic Fly-in....
a New standard was set, and to beat your number one spot, will need some doing/cooking.

My fellow Panorama Trikers got 'cold' feet, because of the mist, but I'am so glad that I've persevered.
The 3-axis gang was there in full support, though.

Mr. ATC was the star of the day, thkz. for the proper discipline exercised.

The food is always the barometer, and the score was high.

When the Circus crowd left, my trike was the very lonesome all by his ownsome.

3 x cheers all around............ (^^)

3 Wheels, you must have left early. 3 GT 450's from Rietfontein came in after our breakfast at Microland and there were a few trikes from Aero 57 there as well.
