Taylor's Breakfast fly in

Postby P Pilot » Mon Apr 10, 2017 7:44 pm

Hi Guys

We are organizing a small breakfast fly-in on the 27th May 2017 at the Jack Taylor Airfield (FAKR) Krugersdorp.

Breakfast will start from 08h00 and be served all morning.

Everyone is welcome so please come join us and let's get a good thing going! We plan on growing this into an annual fly-in so please come support.

Ample parking and avgas available, also beers are nice and cold for anyone planning to drive in :D

For airfield information and joining procedures please see http://www.FAKR.co.za

If possible please RSVP so we can give the restaurant a rough idea of numbers

Look forward to seeing you all!

Confused... (**)

Wanted to organise a charity fly in last year. The message I received from FAKR were VERY clear:

Rules changed? Must admit, I was very disappointed last year when I got this feedback, as it was for a very worthy cause.

Hi Willem
Unfortunately per our AIP we do not allow microlight flying at the airfield. We are not able to accommodate your request at this time.
Wishing you success with your endeavours.
Kind regards
Cecile

I am just a regular club member and wanted to spread the word of the breakfast fly in. I didn't mean to cause any confusion or issues.

Hehe. Well this forum is called Microlighters and your airfield rules state:

So naturally some clarification would be necessary

Some one (a non committee member), takes the time to try organize a fly in, try's to get guys together to enjoy aviation and all he gets is flak!

I know I am new here but is this any way to treat someone who is just trying to organize a get together? If FAKR bugs you so badly take it up with the committee, or is it easier to just attack someone on a forum and spew crap all over something positive that they are trying to do for a dying industry!!

And no I am not defending FAKR, but play the ball, not the man!!

I say remove this Post Ppilot! Those who want to come will be there

Thanks for your comments RyanB.

I agree. I was just trying to spread the word of a fly in. I wasn't aware of the politics that it would unleash.

You got it all wrong RyanB,nobody giving P Pilot flak and it is not FAKR that is the problem, it is the so called KFC ##

There are many good okes at FAKR, don't brand FAKR with the bullsh!t attitude of KFC ##

Nothing wrong with organizng a breakie fly-in ##

The reason it is a dying industry is because of people with the same attitude of KFC..."I am better than you cr@p" I am sure many people would have loved to support the restaurant and FAKR, but does not because of the stupid politics ##

So if you want to do something awesome, go ask your KFC why they so full of sh!t and to remove the idiot rule of no microlights allowed ##

A microlight is allowed to land at Pilanesburg, fly across borders and land at international airports...but can't land at FAKR because of the KFC (**)

I fly from Crosswinds, if you ever heard of it, which is your neighbor and many FAKR pilots land there, not once did we tell them this is Microlight country, no bliks allowed ##

So cherio and have yourself a beautiful day s023

And I can understand the frustration, but is this the right place to do it?

That is all I am saying, is why ruine this event for everyone who now sees it on this forum because of a problem that you have with KFC? Like Ppilot said, he is just an ordinary member and had nothing to do with the no microlight decision.

Yet he also tries to make it work by speaking to a committee member and trying to get guys in, yet not even that seems to be working. Just give up on the idea I guess

PS: did a touch and go at crosswinds in the Cub the other day, very nice airfield

I will get the guys from Crosswinds to join, I am sure many others on this forum would be keen to join as well ##

Sorry for messing up the breakie post with our frustration, I guess everybody just g@tvol of politics ##

The Crosswinds Boyz will be there ##

Let us show our support fellow Microlighters ##

Yeah, I wanted to do a low level runway inspection at FAKR but was afraid of being taken out by a KFC shooter s067 in the tower...just kidding

We will be there s023

Should take us a whole 5 min to get there

Have an awesome one s016
