Awesome thanks. Maybe I need to come visit you and we chat over some beer. I can come and inspect the extension to ur runway vhpy
My thinking is that its just the start of the rain season so hopefully i will get ahead of any major trouble. Well lets see, but yes I must allow time for delays.

So........the beautiful adventure turned into a mini adventure (3 days to be precise). I managed jhb - sodwana, sodwana - ballito, then emoyeni, emoyeni - jhb :(

Bad weather down south was going to trap me for a few days and i was not prepared to sit it out for to long and heavy winds were going to be continuous therefore limiting my flying alot. I was also experiencing very hot engine temps due to some mods i made on my pannier bags (causing airflow blockage) and i was not comfortable going forward like that. I had to leave alot of stuff at Emoyeni just to be able to get back to jhb using only 1 pannier bag. Lesson learnt!!

The short stint was good flying and got to see some beautiful coastline, but now im back. Will try again next year April/May.

Sorry to hear that it was cut short. If you do decide to do April/May next year I might be interested as well as some others. It has always been on my bucket list and after watching the Mike Blyth and Olivier Aubert in South to South where they covered 43 000 kms the expedition bug has bitten again.

Well done Massimo. Glad you're back safely. I'm also planning something similar for next year. Have to agree with rcbgreen. Once the expedition bug has bitten, it is difficult to get it out of your system.

Massimo well done!
That was just the warm-up trip. Now you know what to expect and plan accordingly.
Read my post viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25125&p=234643#p234643 .
I will put my plans up hear in time to come. The Idea is to keep the planning very loosely as I fly, day to day and guys can join in as we go and for part of the flight.
