Africa Cup 2015

Postby Rob McFie » Wed May 27, 2015 4:07 pm

Hi Flyers.
After last year change of dates I need to confirm that the Africa Cuo weekend is back to the traditional Heritage day week end. Heritage day is 24 Sept it is a Thursday this year. This is good news because we get four days by taking the Friday leave.

Bookings a s usual can be made with the Hotel Numbi. Be sure to tell them you are a pilot to get the special rate they give us. We also welcome ideas for the prize giving theme. Hillbillies and Super Heros is one. Pilots and prostitutes another.

This year is the 28th year of this wonderful microlighting competition. The longest running in the world. The whole point of the Africa Cup is to encourage rookie pilots to enter. The focus is on fun flying but if you want to attend and not compete that is also OK. Or compete in some of the tasks. The choice is yours. No pressure.

This is my tenth year as competition director and in that time the event has grown to include any type of aircraft. We don't care what you fly. If it fly. We like it and want you there.

Hi Rob,

I booked but the fee seems to be much higher than previous years (2013). I did tell them I was there for the Africa Cup. There published rate on their web site is R595 B&B, per person, per night sharing. What fee is the special fee?

I like the P party theme. It has many options that I could relate to ## puff (^^) xxx

Hi Paul.
Their rate for the Africa cup includes dinner bed and breakfast. I'll get clarity on the rate.

Thanks Rob for your reply.

Thatchman, that is also what they quoted me.

It would be nice if Rob could publish the rates for the types of accomodation. Then we can plan accordingly.
