9 - 11 August 2013 EAA Convention at Brits

Brits Flying Club received the honour to host the 2013 EAA Convention. (EAA = Experimental Aircraft Association).

The EAA has extended a hearty invitation to microlighters (trikes, gyro and 3-Axis) to attend.

Friday, 9 August is a public holiday and aircraft are already expected on Thursday. Then there will be 3 days of bliss flying as well as space for day visitors. 150 Aircraft are expected from all over the country !

Details will be published soon by the EAA, but it is all about camping under your wing, bushveld hospitality, bonfires and free flying ! Food, drinks and ablutions are arranged.

Mogas and Avgas will be available.

Good evening Aviators,

This event is almost on us and is going to be BIG ! Over 80 aircraft almost confirmed with one estimate having it at a 100 a/c.

Come join us on Friday (public holiday), Saturday (the BIG day) or Sunday morning (fun route flying).

Lots of free camping space, ablutions, food, (fully) stocked pub and newly constructed Bosveld Kompas braai awaits you. Food and braai packs arranged.

Avgas and Mogas available.

EAA invites trikes, microlights, NTCA, PPG, HG and we might even have a balloon or two !

Weather is excellent at the moment and the true free flying spirit is to be unleashed.

All you need to do is to call 5NM inbound on 124.20 and Uncle Bob does the rest.

Some of us froom Crosswinds want to maybe come in of Friday morning for a brekkie. Kloot is this possible. Maybe not stay the whole day but pop in hello visit and then leave again. Maybe a repeat on Sat??

If there is coffee and brekkie then cool - lets kick the tires and light the fires !!
