Just for those who won't be at the braai, the next one has, again, to be moved closer, to the 9th of November 2013 (not all my fault...promise..). As most of you are away in December we want to make this the final Christmas event. So,... we are thinking in terms of a festive dress up with presents for the kids and a hamper for Johannes & Kelvin. Maybe a volunteer Father Christmas...a couple of people come to mind for this job, but lets vote for the lucky one....he he he.Fanie, Robbie, Ray, Hans... Absence does not mean non-eligibility.

Oom father Xmas should be John Boucher, lets see how fast his rain deer can get him here from the South Pole
Re: Bring & Braai every 3rd Sat of Month Microland
Turbo, that is the spirit. He is just too far away. We also have a few look alikes at FABA and who have the caracter as well. Bundy recons I must do it. I am old enough and can do the laughing part, but I lack the figure. Maybe with a few pillows I will be able to keep the suit on...but that will be toooo hot in November....or am I just making excuses? I will play the part if no one more appropriate and willing can be found.
I thought, weather permitting, this Father Christmas could fly in....presents in the panniers...or in a Savanah or Cheetah with a proper RED bag full of presents over the shoulder. The kids (and parents) will love it.

Re: Bring & Braai every 3rd Sat of Month Microland
What a braai we had yesterday . Thanks to Dionne and Nick for all the helping. And to the people who brought eats, thanks a million. The GEES was there and growing. Also, I am very pleased to report that the fridge is now in the green. The ticket system and new prices are working.
Ok guys, the 9th of November has been confirmed as our end-of-year Christmas theme braai. Mervyn has gracefully accepted to be Father Christmas and will arrange to arrive in a Robbie R44 helicopter-sleigh piloted by his friend and grade A instructor based at Rand Airport. Some of you regulars must have met her. We are wondering how we are going to get the reindeer ingespan....any ideas?
Please bring a present for your child, not too big or heavy (new 582 for me please) and limited to a max price of R.200 per child. They must be wrapped and clearly marked with your child's name and delivered the day before. You can either deliver to Microland, Mervyn Rynolds, or to me or to someone else who can take it out to the airfield before the 9th. If you could also bring, on the day, some Christmas crackers and please wear festive clothes. We will supply Christmas hats and our gazebo. If you have a smallish Christmas tree or two, please bring them. Extra fold up chairs may also be a good idea.
Please let me know if you are coming and how many children we can expect. We really want this to be a fun thing for the whole family. Bring your kids...grand kids and grown up kids.
Like last year, we also want to give Johannes and Kenneth a Christmas food hamper or two. If you feel you want to give something then please bring it on the day.

Dionne, as you know her, has already bought the Father Christmas hats. I had to hold her back to 30 hats (all in stock ), to start with. They are very zooty....you will see just how zooty when you get yours.
Now all we need is you, and your family, to come and fit yours and have fun.
See you all on the 9th Nov

Alan has suggested we hire a jumping castle for after the presents hype has worn off....and for the parents to have something to do while the kids are having fun. We should all club in for that. If the hire company can deliver and collect it would be great. Costs a little more, but well worth it. These things are very heavy and combersome ....ask me, I have been there many times. King Alan Hussey, will you organise the castle?
See you all there!!
