If you book early or go early you will be able to get a fully fitted self catering cabin at the bed rate. Ask for the log cabin that is upstairs in the trees with a kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor. each cabin has a braai etc in the sand forest.

Re: Ezulweni - 21 and 22 May 2010

Re: Ezulweni - 21 and 22 May 2010
For those in the know, could they kindly post a map indicating legal flight routes along the north coast, say from Richards Bay and highlight the 4000ft minimum areas?
Thanks

Hi,
Best that you speak to the local guys.
I've never really relied on my GPS there! This will work ? from Richards Bay > fly north ish - keep the green on the left and the blue on the right - when you have done about 60km you will come to the remains of the Jolly Rabino and the St Lucia mouth. Then go half way down the pond on the left about 30km and turn left crossing false bay - Ezulweni is the runway in the sand forest with Giraffe waiting to entertain you!!!
But better still
Contact Pierre Conradie 0832651905 - Pierre has his own airfield and lives in Hluhluwe. He flies a Cheetah.
Contact Mike French 083 630 5073 - Mike flies a Gyro and is based in Empangeni
Accommodation bookings: Tel the lodge on 035 562 2100 or 035 562 7002
Photos- oh dear me!
There are about 3,000 photos at http://community.webshots.com/user/alanmack777 that cover the coastline from Ballito to Bazaruto but the albums are being rearranged at the moment so there are some North coast albums that are empty - you will need to scratch around.
My good old favourite of Richards Bay is attached - That's the finger of Zulu1

Re: Ezulweni - 21 and 22 May 2010
Howzit from Ezulwini! Me and Blue Max arrived on Thursday afternoon, having covered just short of 200 nm, routing Standerton, Volksrust, Vryheid, Ezulwini, in 4hours 40 minutes. We had some lovely trips up and down the North Coast and inland from St Lucia. Some pics - will post more when I'm back in GP.
We leave tomorrow, back to Standerton, and Tuesday morning Blue Max goes back to his place near Loskop, and I go back to Microland.
Thanks to all the North Coast guys - it was nice meeting you all!!
