ANY BODY WITH ANY ADVICE ABOUT THE CAPE WEATHER IS WELCOME TO WRITE ME, THIS REALLY IS A BEAUTIFUL CHALLENGING PART OF THE WORLD.
THANKS.
AND LIKE THEY SAY ,BETTER TO BE DOWN HERE WISHING TO BE UP THERE ,THAN TO BE UP THERE WISHING YOU ARE DOWN HERE. HAHAHAHA...... (!!)

PLEASE WRITE SOMETHING ,THAT WILL HELP A LOT TO THE NON LOCAL PILOTS TO UNDERSTAND A BIT OF YOUR EXPERIENCE AS CAPE PILOTS.

El Mexi, I'm not a very experienced pilot, and even less so over the mountains. Beware of the winds coming from the likes of Caledon, Villiersdorp over to say Franchoek or Stellenbosch. These I'm told can be really scary. I would suggest going a bit higher than usual and pick a 'no wind' morning. I'm sure you know all this but I'm told it is very unpredictable. (^^)

Low level down the coast to CT is almost as good as the wild coast. BEWARE of the WX. Fone George Tower and tell them you routing inbound if you want to go through there. Always been most accommodating. If the WX is poor along the coast the Outshorn is almost always open.

Mossel Bay also have a nice social bunch of buggers....

PS
Mussel Pot at the Lookout Deck is def worth a try....

The best place to cross the mountains is Bain's Kloof pass, depending on wind. 6500ft is more than enough, and it is very short. alternatively follow the valley up to Tulbagh and cross over at low level

See Pic, the crossing at Twin Peaks is about 5 miles, further up at Tulbach the mountain is very low

How did he know they were French as he was flying past? Were they wearing berets or waving a large French Loaf   8) Brilliant, except for the SHOUTING. Perhaps it's the wind that has made him deaf
