vhpy
Ek het my roete hierbo iewers gesit.(Geskryf)
When I fly long distance with a trike I prefer not to restrict my departure to one particular day.. 8)
For the reason I have then the opportunity to choose the better weather during my time of flight.
As daar van julle Bulle is wat met my wil op konnekteer by Volksrus voel welkom om my te kontak.
Iemand enige konneksies by Volksrus.?
Ek praat jou thaal...

Oom Paul, from Volksrust you're only a short distance to Battlefields Lodge - a nice stop and you won't haver to bother with morning mist, maybe 70 miles and then not far from Shell Ultra City for the next leg, missing out the mountains. Check on vfr.co.za

Is there a specific reason you guys want to take two days to get down to Margate?

We have flown there many times in groups with various aircraft (503 - 912s) and it can be done comfortably in a day. We always flew Springs, Harrismith (refuel from back seat) Shell Escourt. (refuel trike and containers on back seat), Emoyeni (just south of PMB an top up tank from back seat) next stop Margate. Leave early and you will be in Harrismith before there is a single bump in the air. If you carry a pax have a friend carry one container for you.

Enjoy the trip!

Trip can be done in one day, the reason for 2 days is we leave Friday afternoon, some of us have to work to be able to fly
We leave Friday afternoon, about 2 hours to Grootdraai, sleep over and early morning leave to get over the Berg, refuel Ultrcity and Eva's. We hit Margate about 12h00.
We have done this before.

Paul

Die runway is so plus minus 38nm suid van Margate by Port Grosvenor.

Groete
Deon

Deon.
The grosvener runway is a no no. It is no longer maintained, and has not been for quite a while, unless you know something I don't. It will not be safe to land.

Vernon,

Thanks for the headsup. It is a pity that all these small strips are going to ruins. It was nice going theren when it was maintained.....

Luckily there are numerous beaches around the same are that are smooth, long and and are 'maintained' on a daily basis by the waves.......
