ul power

Postby Flooi » Fri Jul 17, 2015 12:28 pm

So far 60 hours on my ul260i and very happy. No choke, no carb heat and starts
Hot or cold in an instant. Very smooth. Will have to see how things will go as
Hours build up. Local agent Bundu Aviation very very helpful. vhpy

Now 75 hrs. Still smooth and quiet. Exhaust seems poor design.
Had 2 minor breakages. This morning the exhaust broke off from
the muffler on takeoff. Not serious, but after only 75hrs...... ? :(

Hi Flooi,

does the exhaust have any ball-joints? My Rotax 912 had the same problem because of the lack of it, but once I fitted ball-joints all problems were gone...

Ex factory brackets wat die stress dra in plaas van dat die muffler aan die manifold hang.

Some feedback.... It was after much trepidation that I ventured into the unsure UL POWER world. After talking to Andrew Pappas
and other UL informed aviators, I took the plunge about a year ago. Now fast approaching 80 hours, my UL260i had only one snag:
a broken exhaust- which was quickly sorted out with the help of BUNDU AVIATION. The engine purrs sweetly, smoothly and quietly
with all in the green. So far, so good..........

After many years of fiddling with LS1 (and a few TCA) I am leaning strongly towards UL POWER as well as CAMit. ## ## ##

Hallo almal!

I have the UL350i
Brilliant piece of engineering!
I think there are close to 12 ULP's in the south of Africa, and hundreds in the USofA!

regards,
Deon.
