VW 2.1 L aircraft engine**SOLD**

Postby Jean Crous » Tue Apr 23, 2019 10:00 am

I removed a VwW 2.1Litre engine from my personal Cubby . The engine has a belt reduction drive with it. This engine is still new with only 30 hours on it. No second hand parts, all new parts cranck case , heads, pistons and sleeves, oil pump etc etc. This engine case has a spin-on oil filter.
R45k takes it.
It will work in a wide variety of airframes.
Contact me : Jean Crous 072 6716 240.
PS : this is not a type 4 engine.

Hi Jean, how come you mention it is not a type 4 ? Is you're engine a better option than the type 4 or the other way around ?

I know you don't like to degrade any item so may be challenging to answer but I'm very interested to know why you highlighted that fact. Many thanks

Hi CR, the type 4 engines had cylinder head problems on some models, and parts for them are not as plentyfull as the type 1. There were many more type 1 engines made than type 4. Also the type 1 is lighter because it has a magnesium engine case, whereas the type 4 has an aluminium case, making it heavier. The type 1 is also more well known for being converted to aviation use.

Jean

I have both options available. It was originally run with the Fuel injection, we changed it to a carb to save weight.
