Friendly Warning (OPPAS)

Postby Emiel Thysse » Mon Aug 17, 2015 9:37 am

I have recently bought a radio from a person(Not to be named at this stage) on the forum.
Wanted to use the radio as a handheld as I do not have a plane.(Training purposes)
Was only R800 but these days it is alot!!! (Old radio)

I was promised a charger and antenna. I received the radio with no charger and no antenna. Now I am simply being ignored when trying to get hold of him.
Cmon guys this forum is here as we all have a love for flying.

If this is what the world is coming to I dont know.
With trust now out the window, I will think twice before buying something "long distance" on this forum...

Just wanted to get this message out there....

Cheers,

On the flip side I recently bought a transponder from a chap in East London and it worked perfectly. I think guys in the aviation community are generally honest.
Hope he now owns up....

You must have just been unlucky. I have never been crooked by anyone in the many transactions done through this forum.

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience, personally all my purchases on this forum have been great. Don't let one person put you off purchasing anything again. I think the people we share the sky's with all are generally awesome people (especially microlighters!) everyone wants to help everyone else out to keep friends safe in the sky and grow the sport. Hope future purchases go well. Cheers
