A quick update . . . . very flyable on Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings!!!

(NOTE: This is an update from the previous post . . . . please refer to disclaimers and links!)

Thursday and Friday mornings are NEAR PERFECT for flying with very little high-level winds!

Saturday less so, but still flyable! Be back on the deck by 10am! Watch the winds aloft!

Comments: Not flying weather, but depends on cloud cover and winds aloft (this can improve, so check back) - rather fly on Sunday!

Sunday 25th November:

Wind: S 4-7 knots increasing to S 7-11 knots later in the morning.
High-Level Winds: Yes, but flyable - expect to get bounced about a little at altitude, as well as low level close to the mountains!
Temperatures: 16-26C
Cloud Cover: Some, but at higher level
Precipitation: No

Comments: Careful of longer take-off roll due to southerly wind in the early morning, so watch your all up weight! Careful of rotor off the mountain!

CAUTIONARY: A southerly wind at Aeroden means ROTORS off the mountain, especially when on final approach! STAY ALERT!!! Be ready for ABRUPT directional corrections at low level and be ready to apply power if you find yourself descending faster than expected!

Weather Flying Tip: Remember, especially with the tail-wind take-off on Sunday to CHECK take-off weight and to be prepared for an extended take-off roll! Also, double-check your take-off ABORT POINT: Must have achieved 70% of take-off/rotation speed (Vr) at 50% of runway length!

WOW! The weather lately has been SUPERB for flying!!!

I flew on Sunday morning (7/10), Monday afternoon (8/10) and Tuesday morning (9/10)!!!

I'll be up there again tomorrow (Wed) morning as the rest of the week is starting to look a little miserable . . . .

Although Saturday and Sunday are both looking BAD for flying, Friday and Monday mornings are flyable for those needing an altitude fix! However, on both of these days there is some high-level wind so still exercise care!

1. Sunday 1 December is still very much a 'No-Fly' day with cloud and high winds prevalent!

2. Monday is not looking great, with some low-level cloud now showing along with 12-16 knot winds aloft!

3. The first opportunity for a morning flight looks like Wednesday 5 December!
