Flying a SA reg plane on a Foreign License

Postby Station Kariba » Thu Mar 21, 2013 9:12 am

Can anyone advise me what the legal standing is on flying a South African registered microlight with a Zimbabwe license. I am hoping to attend the Kalahari Bundu Bash and have been offered the use of a plane registered in SA. Can I fly this plane with my valid Zim license. I have this type endorsed in my logbook. Anyone know? Thanks.

You will need a foreign validation. see part 62 on the raasa website or call them. Basically you have to bring copies of your foreign license, write an airlaw exam and go for a flight test but check the regs first. www.raasa.co.za
