Re: Carl Babst Raven Taildragger
I got the good news today... My registration of the aircraft has been successful, so it is the first Raven TD in the country that I know of...
Just a couple of hurdles to overcome, i.e. Last things to complete, PFA, etc., and then she will be flying!

Re: Carl Babst Raven Taildragger
This week has been productive... All the small stuff that takes most of the time to complete.
The engine has been fitted, oil tank, radiator, oil cooler, exhaust system, etc has also been installed. I also installed the aileron autopilot servo, electric trim and all control cables.

Re: Carl Babst Raven Taildragger
Time was a bit limited due to family commitments as well as trying to do things right the first time...
Only wiring and upholstery that is left, so should be in the air soon...

Re: Carl Babst Raven Taildragger
One thing that bothers me is the angle that the tailwheel is connected to the rudder. It makes steering harder and actually stresses the rudder attachment.
I would maybe like to connect the tailwheel cables to the rudder cables closer to the fuselage. this way I can decrease the angle thus needing less force to steer and no bending of the rudder horns.
Any ideas??

Dit klink na n plan Boet, maar dit maak die stuur moeiliker, selfs al tel ek die stert op as ek toets met die wiel weg van die grond af...
