Sorry, I have been a bit lax with my postings. All the wings is doped white, but it is so damn cold, spraypainting is out of the question. So we carried on with the brakes etc. This plane is as close as dammit to a swear word from completion. I will post some pics tomorrow night.....promise!!

In the preceding days I was very busy with my little foam roller, and in between cold an lesser cold spells, I managed to dope the wings white. And finally, towards mid day today, it was (for a change!!) hot enough for some spray-painting. So we sprayed al four wings their final yellow coat. By about four, it was so cold, I had to put my jacket on again!! Meanwhile, we are busy on the exhaust system and the brakes. Untill later..... vhpy

Attending to all those "little last things". Made and fitted stainless steel silencer system. Meanwhile Willem is smartening up the rest of the cockpit. Will place pics when he is done. vhpy

This afternoon I connected the batteries, switched the master on and pushed the starter button. A very satisfying tohoihoi resulted. She is so close to running now. The Biplane is coming to life!! (^^)

Just when you think you are in the know........ I could not get the idle cut-off to work with the mixture. Thanks to internet I now also know that the idle cut-off with a Stromburg carburettor works a lot different from the Marbel Schlieber I am used to. I thought you have to pee on the spark plug leads, or kill it with a dropper paaltjie to get the engine to stop. She now starts and runs very smooth. Dom seun!!  4 or 5 minor litte tasks left to do, and then she can go to ze aigfield. (^^) (!!)

The work on the Bipe has been completed. Once I have hangar space available, we will push it outside, assemble everything and take it out to the airfield. I do not like to take the workshop to the airfield, it is a logistical nightmare. Once it has been test flown, I will do the final setting of the horizontal stab, and then make the fairing for the tail end. Some pics, enjoy! vhpy
