Geluk met die groot mylpaal !!

Dis voorwaar 'n GROOT prestasie !

We had a 45min flight on Sunday and the little yaris engine is performing without a hitch so far
Started playing with the mgl recording and am amazed at the valuable info this instrument can record.

getting phone calls from DD, regular as clockwork. He is VERY enthusiastic about his project and his Explorer. Says the combo is a match made in heaven. So far the Yaris has performed flawlessly, and is so light on petrol, he almost forgets to fill....... vhpy

Toyota powered explorer now has 5 hours flight time and we are planning to take it to the Vredendal Fly-in on the 28th of August 2010.
First attempt to make a short video – watch on you tube if you like.

That now sounds like an aeroplane (on steroids!).... awesome stuff!

With that kind of fuel burn will push my Cheetah's endurance up to 8-9 hours.... amazing stuff!

This is such an important project and achievement! Well done guys!

We could not make it to Vredendal on Saturday ,rain at homebase vhpy vhpy vhpy
Sunday morning we flew to Lambertsbay and met the Saldanha croud on their way back, the yaris powered explorer performed without a hitch, she has done 10hrs and we have not changed anthing under the cowl,do preflight add fuel as required and fly vhpy
There is still a lot of testing to be done but i am confident that the little yaris engine has a place as an alternative powerplant in experimental aviation,we are busy importing the 90hp kit

Today had some free time Ystervark and myself went to Saldanha and had a look at the Yaris engined Bushbaby and it was such a lovely visit , Dieseldog what nice achievement the installation is stunning and I wish you many hrs of safe flying. Anybody interested in the Toyota should give this option a serious thought it is worth thinking about. I love NTCA we must just fight for our freedom without freedom no new innovations.

Wonderful !!!!!!!!

On Saturday, I had some time to kill, so I went to FASD, and went for a jollie/ evaluation with the Yaris powered Explorer. What a blast! Performance about on par with a 582. DD has ordered a 90hp kit from Ecoyota, that should really make it go! When I flew, conditions were a little less than ideal, hot and humid. Noise level inside is liveable, and the engine is very smooth. Start up was quick and simple. Strange to line up, and no mag check. Impressed the hell out of me. I am not sorry for starting this. Could not have passed the batten to a better person. Thanks DD for entrusting your pride and joy to my piloting skills!!

Fly safe!! vhpy vhpy vhpy vhpy vhpy
