Re: Finally: MY own Bushbaby Explorer
I declared war against weight with this aeroplane. The prop is a bit special, and I am going to do a bit of an aerodynamic cleanup. I belief, that the lighter they are, the better they fly. Putting too many instruments in these planes are really stupid. It just adds weight and complexity...... but I am digressing. My aim is to get this baby as close to an honest 100mph aerie as I can. It is possible. The aeroplane is now basically complete. All the bits and pieces need to be assembled. The scales will tell the story.

Some useless info....Boet wrote:I am going to do a bit of an aerodynamic cleanup. My aim is to get this baby as close to an honest 100mph aerie as I can. It is possible.
About ten years ago they did a streetbike top end shootout in England. They tested the top ten bikes, and the fastest bike over 1 mile had the SEVENTH highest horsepower on that day. The secret - the owner spent serious time cleaning the aerodynamics of the bike - the screen to fairing fitment, every bolt and nut that stuck out, the calipers, brake hoses, etc, etc.
Small changes has huge effects at 100mph.
