Hi Deon

Re: Thunderbird - BMW R1200 Engine
I can now understand Oupa-G's frustration with paperwork because I am going through the same. Now waiting for TWO weeks for inspection of the Engine mount. After various e-mails and phone calls now realised that the the Gentleman in question is in the USA!!!!!!
Now we wait and wait...

Re: Thunderbird - BMW R1200 Engine
Went to visit the Trevor and the Thunderbird this morning and got some detailed pictures (Prentjies for the others). I am very exited and can't wait. Trevor cannot do the final assembly/welding before been inspected by CAA inspector, so now we wait.
The performance and handling of this Thunderbird is just going to be in a different class. The engine is way back and well within the C of G. The thrustline is 100% inline with the wings, not like previous 912 Thunderbirds where the thrustline was way, way above the wings and the engine had to be tilted to compensate for this. There is also no mods to the Standard MKII airframe so this will be a quick conversion for future Thunderbird owners.
Trevor has built jigs so that future mounts will be quick to built.
HOPEFULLY not long now.

Hi Johan
Sterkte en groete daar by kroon hulle.

Met al die perde gaan ek:
2. Gaan teen ten minste 800ft/min met hom in, uitklim
3. Gaan teen 70mph cruise teen 12 liter per uur.
4. Gaan in minder as 100m met my buurman in, opstyg.
5. As ek in 'n Rotor beland by die berg het ek baie meer perde om uit te kom.
Ek het al in die 912S TB gevlieg. Hierdie een gaan nog baie beter perform.
Dis wat ek in 'n aerie soek.
Groete daar
