Part 62 - National Pilot Licensing

Postby RudiGreyling » Mon Sep 08, 2008 2:42 pm

Part 62 - National Pilot Licensing comes into play later this year. Find the complete latest version, broken down into sections, in an easy to download Microsoft Word Format, on the MISASA website.

Hi Rudi, tks for the steady info, just one thing I cannot appear to find and that is what happens to current grade C, B and A flight instuctors (3 axis) wanting to become light sport instructors?

Will there be an upgrade exam and flight test or is it an automatic transfer?

Regards

Perry

Hi Perry,

oops sorry i am not the expert, just the messanger, so I don't know...
May I suggest you log onto missasa and send Mike B a question, he might be able to help.
Or better just phone him up at aviation engines.

Regards
Rudi

Hi Perry

Please keep us posted if you do get any info

Speaking to Fred Blokland on Friday he said that there will definately be criteria to instruct on sport licence other than 3 axis.
He presumes that you might even have to have ppl before you will be allowed to do the instructor coarse.
But there are no answers yet from CAA.

But keep us posted

Hi folk emailed Mike Blyth, he said that there will certainly be an upgrade exam and flight test, as for the content nature of the exam that remains to be seen.

The last I looked a PPL was not and will not be a requirement to become a recreational instructor and specific LSA instructor.

I'm also trying to get hold of Mike Cathro he may know more detail...

Will let u know what I find....
