1. You would like to have the right of choice as to whether you do your own maintenance and repairs, and at what point you would like to employ the services of some-one else to either assist you or to do the job.

You also do not want to be told how to do the work. You will do it in terms of standard industry practice.

The person you choose to assist you does not have to be an AP, or an AME etc., In other words, you can ask your local 2-stroke mechanic, or you can take it to an approved service centre etc.,

You will enter all the work done in the aircraft logbook, so that at the next Annual Inspection, the AP can see what work has been done.

Hi Johann - good to see you on the forum (^^)

Hi folk.

What's up?

This survey was run 12 months ago, and has served it's purpose.

There is no point in re-opening the thread.

The Aero-club and the CAA are well aware of our reasonable wish as expressed by the vote.

At the last 'count', I was under the impression that James Pitman is exhausting himself with frustration trying to get a 'deal' for us.

Best wishes to him, and also my gratitude. (Thanks James)

Kind regards to you all.

Yes owners that do their own maintenance understand their aircraft better.

Mmm. And nobody understands my aerie better than myself. I know every bolt and nut and every rib, wire, cable and glue line, for I have built it myself....with pride. (-)

hey guys. I read the latest notams re the maintenance of my 582....do I understand it correctly when it says that all work must be carried out by an approved AMO?...it is very confusing.

Furthermore, I have 270 hours on the motor, yet it is now 8 years old...does that mean that I have to do a complete overhaul as per their last paragraph?

thanks for all your help.
