Fire extinguisher in a trike - current legislation

Postby Bromparra » Sun Aug 28, 2016 10:25 am

Can someone please enlighten me on the current situation regarding fire extinguishers in a trike. Should we have it or is there exemption due to the impracticality of using a halon extinhuisher in an open cockpit?

I know there were discussiobs regarding this that there are exemptions in part 94.06.7. I have read this and can find nothing on exemptions for fire extinguishers on trikes. It inly implies that I might operate without one. This exemption also implies that I do not need to carry many other items over which long debates have been going on.

Consensus was that it being obviously impractical to position a fire extinguisher in an accessible place let alone operate it in flight, it would be beneficial to have one in the pannier bag in case on of your buddies has an incident on the ground and you are able to offer assistance.
