Another pilot in the making

Postby Low Level » Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:20 am

His wife has a real passion for flying, so after some beer and braaivleis talk - much similar to Hangar talk  - , I organized a demo/intro in a gyro with my instructor at the time.

Nine months ago we rocked up at Kitty Hawk with another friend who also was interested in gyro flying. Mak was the camera man/nanny/support, for the morning, while his wife and his friend were having fun in the gyro - seperately

After the intros, Roelf (pilot) was in a good mood, so with a helluva effort we got mak in this gyro thing.

His wife started immediately with training, and Tinkerbell was born.

After buying a gyro - for Tinkerbell - - Mak saw the fun, started his training in April, and then this happened at Rhino yesterday - his instructor was replaced by a sandbag.

Well done with your solo dude !!! !!!!

Thanks guys.
As you all should know it is an awesome feeling    , but it only struck me a couple of hours later.
Now the real learning start. Must thank my instructor for his perseverance and patience.
Eggbeater, we are a couple of gyronauts at Rhino at the moment and hope to do fly aways with the guys from Kitty Hawk, Springs & Brakpan soon.
Big Mac, unfortunately the photo is not of my solo flight, too overwhelmed to remember to take a photo.

Hi mak

You are Rhino is close enough to Kitty for them to be almost one anyway so with luck I will see you at one or the other.

Were you flying at Rhino last Saturday at about 09:00?

I was collecting my gyro after repairs to its radio.

A very very tricky question……, Tinkerbelle may change her name to Bobbitt if you answer incorrectly sir.

Harlequin

Thanks, that is good advice. Like cutting your "nose" to spoil your "face".

Mrs Bobbitt, sorry sorry Tinkerbell

Not quite the best experience of my life, but the best one where I were in charge of the stick. . Now I can't imagine a life without that stick anymore. Hope to share it with you soon.
