Since its so quiet in here (Is Avcom the official gyro forum now?), and I thought it was pretty interesting, here is a street legal Autogyro Calidus conversion from the Czech Republic. Looks like they added some side mirrors and an electric motor to drive the front wheel (From rotary forum):

Re: Street legal gyro
Looks like they protect the rotors with some kind of cabling system over the rotor head.
Re: Street legal gyro
would not get approval in many places, looking at the prop unprotected its just waiting to connect with a person walking through the traffic at a stop light.... I think they would be great in certain suburbs

Re: Street legal gyro
Hehe if you turn the prop to an optimal position I don't think it will protrude much further than the horizontal stabilizer.
This kit is obviously not a good solution for the everyday commute...
but...
Maybe the electric motor (and the rest of the kit) is a good solution for safely taxiing/driving from the airfield to a nearby petrol station and back during a cross country? ...

Re: Street legal gyro
Interesting. Can't imagine the range using the electric motor would be much, but it's a good idea.
