Almost looks like its the transparent panels that's not centered and not the light. But it might just be angle of the photo.

so it can be seen its installed but no wiring, decided to remove unnecessary switches and now the top hat is in with the trigger that will control the PTT, the holes will be blanked off (another job)

This is how it's done. Rubber gromet to prevent chaffing and a protective sleeve to keep things neat and tidy.

I do not have a detailed photo in my lib. This one is not great either but it will give you an idea of at least the horizontal part. Then it slants towards the rear at 30 deg right down to the existing fiberglass floor. Obviously it does not have a square cut to be able to snug the round belly.
