Keep it simple. The most expensive instrument on the panel.

Greg, looking at the heli panels, there's just one thing that concerns me with the panel you have made up - and that is the very pronounced shroud / hood. In an accident those edges (even with rubber stripping) have the potential to become guillotine blades should it be impacted by anyone in an accident. It's noticeable that by contrast the heli panels have minimized panel edging. Just something to consider. Dave

Or just pop into your local hardware shop - they stock extruded aluminium ;)

Now I don't know the one end of a lathe from the other - but when looking at that Xenon tether bolt my non-engineering mind does wonder why they cut the thread diameter down so much from the bolt diameter? That "neck" is a helluva lot thinner than the rest of the bolt and must compromise its strength no? So is there reason why the factory didn't cut a regular thread into the bolt and just use a bigger lock-nut? (As per the MTO teeter bolt example you show)

I'm enjoying following your rebuild Greg - thanks for sharing this with us.
