What a nice surprise it was for me to see the masterful display by the gyro pilot at the Swartkop airshow yesterday 11 May. My heart skipped a few beats when I noticed the gyro lining up for take-off without prior announcement. I truly enjoyed every moment of that display and wished more people could truly appreciate the airmanship on display. I somehow pity those who only attend airshows to see the spectacular high speed stuff, although that remains impressive, but then miss out on appreciating the skills of pilots in the slower machines. Well done and may we see more such displays at future shows.
