Len, the hass units are not hearing aid... they are hearing protection used in the mining industry. The speakers inside are just a bonus, so basically Paul has been busy getting the setup so you can plug the hass units into the circuit to get comms.Gyronaut wrote:Hi Jans & Paul
Forgive my ignorance but I assume the Hass unit is for someone who is hearing impaired? I don't think I need it yet but with the bad sound quality in my open Gyro I will be needing it soon.
This is also a trainer so it has different people in it several times a day. I dont think form-fitted earphones will work but perhaps standard in-ear phones will work better?
I have replaced the radio, replaced the headphones, had the wiring re-done and properly shielded and grounded and STILL its lousy. What next?
The hass units are supposed to block out the noise almost 100%. That way you will hear much better and in the mean time also save your ears...
Now Pauls headphones and mics are set up so you get the minimum wind and enjine noise feedback through the mics.
So if all this is put together, we just might have a very good sollution for open gyros.
So, the the standard inear phones will probably work, but only to deliver sound to the ear. They probably will not help much to help block out outside noise...
