Garmin 296 loan please?

Postby Gyronaut » Sun Jun 12, 2011 10:13 am

Would anyone consider lending me their Garmin 296 from this coming Wednesday (15th) until Tuesday (21st) please?

I plan to fly OzGyro's machine from FABB to Alldays and his 296 has gone on the blink. His machine has the mount, antennae etc for a 296 already so that will be easiest.

Please let me know and I promise to take good care of it.

Rgds

Dink jy nie jy moet ons wys dat jy nog met n kaart kan vlieg nie.

Hi Len

I have one you can borrow. It is shy of the last set of updates (last year I think) but works well.

You will need to get it from Sandton though.

Thanks Guys,

um..,, by the way, I grew up in that area and I assure you I can find my way to FAPI and then from there to Louis Trichard, over the mountain to Musina (In my day Messina). Without a GPS or a map, trust me... what worries me is the FAJS Buffer Zone, PTA GF2, Makhado Airspaces etc, which I know nothing about. (Since I haven't flown there in 20 years). Any heads-up info & frequencies will be greatly appreciated.

BY THE WAY... Llewellyn mate, you offered to fetch me from ORT, so just bring it along... no?

PS, I arrive at ORT on Thursday Morning at 8:15 with 1Time, if you (Llewellyn) can't fetch me to FABB then I will take a taxi.

I plan to make final arrangements in the coming week but you guys are too quick for me...

Thanks for your assistance!

Hi All

Len, I will arrange with Llewellyn to collect the 296 for you this week. I can also collect you from OR Tambo and take you straight to Brakpan, I had planned meeting you out at Brakpan anyways, as I still need to refuel ZU-DSA and get you that spare jerrycan sorted. Will give you a call today to discuss.

Cheers

Ag ou Len , ek dink almal besef jy is heel bevoeg om so iets aan te pak sonder n kaart. Ek was net n bietjie lus om k@k te praat met die diere.

And Darren , sorry about the afrikaans . I am just pulling Lens leg a bit .

Looking forward seeing you guys in Alldays. If you cant find me , i will be in the pub.

Thanks Darren, that sounds like the easiest plan then. Lets make it 8:45 at ORTIA on Thursday 16th then, wherever is easiest for you (International drop 'n go?). I appreciate all your effort.

Bonzai, I'll see you in the pub at Alldays! (^^)
Llewellyn, I look forward to buying you a drink for the loan of the GPS. Thanks.
