No... actually I did have a camera!
It was just due to the nature of the lesson, I did not take fotos, this was my first time in the circut!

Re: 3.1 Hours Under the belt!!
About a month ago I got my hours up to 3.1! It was great!
I didn't get to post here as I was to busy...
I then went flying not on Sat the 7 of Feb but on the prevouis one (the 31st Methinks)
When I foned Louis he told me the wind was PUMPING but if I wanted I could come out and do some theory!
So off I went! (I did not get up at 5am to just sit at home! )
Anyway, I had a lekka time, we never ended up doing theory but it was good all the same! I saw Oom Ronnie (Cheetah ZU-EXY I think) and a lot of other friends there! It was at one point like Heathrow!
Anyway, I am going flying again soon so I hope to see you guys in the air!
Ciao

Re: 4 Hours Under the belt!!
Hi,
It's rather late to post as I flew over two weeks ago, on the 17th of April! My life has been hectic and I haven't been on the forum, let alone posted!
Anyway, I was due to fly on Sun 16th at 8am but there was mist on the runway and Louis wanted me to do circuts and landings so it was a no-go. However, he had a slot for the monday (17th) so I took it. My dad was free so he took me down to the field to watch me fly.
Karl was there and had just finished his flight with Louis. (His checkride, testflight, whatever you call it! )
My dad gave him some valuable advice: Fly all you can for the first few months of the baby's life because after that the REAL work begins!
We got in about 4 touch-and-goes. On my first landing I came in and ballooned the trike (Flared to much) I immediatly pulled in the bar, but this is the WRONG thing to do as Louis told me afterward. We quickly took control and put power. We aborted the landing and cruised low-level over the runway.
During the de-briefing Louis said next time we could go to Altona and do an out-landing!
An awsome morning of flying before home for my mum's home-made burgers, Yum!
My next flight is planned for 17th May, in fact, my 14th Birthday!
The photo's are below...

Looking good Ross
Must be difficult having the lessons far between... Or does it work ok with you?
Do you take off on your own allready?
Will let you know when I have a open slot so that I can take you for a flip in a Aerotrike!
Cheers

Re: 4 Hours Under the belt!!!
WELL Done - nogal wifff pictures and all.
Yes pulling the bar in when you balloon is the same as pushing the nose down on a 3 axis aircraft and the result is the same as that guy doing the nose over in the cheetah. - You can just release the pressure and take some power and then remove the power and push forward again but don't pull it back ever.
The best is to level out - take full power - abort the landing and try it again.

Karl: No, it's not such a problem for me. I hadn't flown since December so I was a little rusty but otherwise, nope it doesn't! The problem is, even though we have the money, my dad is like a Scotsman when it comes to money! He's 'rather' tight fisted! Or should it beextra300s wrote: Must be difficult having the lessons far between... Or does it work ok with you?

Yup, I take off all by myself! Louis is happy with my takeoffs and also my landings. He says next time we can go and do an out-landing at Altona.

Re: 5,2 Hours Under the belt!!!
Hi Guys,
I now have 5.2 hours under the belt!
Me and Louis flew on Tuesday 26th May.
I arrived at the field at about 2pm to fly at 3pm. I walked around the field for a bit and then we went and did the briefing. Louis told me how to leave the circuit, and also how to enter it, as well as some other info.
Then we went and pre-flighted the trike. We took off with no bumps at all and exited the circuit to the west, we then climbed to 1500ft and routed for Altona.
Once at Altona we did about 5 touch and goes there. 2 of my landings were rotten. There is a pole sticking out of the top of the hanger and I was scared I was gonna hit it, as a result, my first landing was bad, after that though, I got used to the pole and the rest were good. By the last landing, I was starting to lose concentration, and this resuted in a bad landing.
Coming back to Fisantekraal, I was hopless when I entered the pattern and, well I was just hopeless!
My landing at Fisantekraal wasn't so bad though.
I did a bit of radio work during the flight. The first was when we changed frequency to 124.8. I Had to say, Traffic 124.8, microlight CAK has just left the fisantekraal Circuit...
The second one was telling the FAFK traffic I was now coming back into the circuit. (At the end of the flight) Everything was garbled and I forgot to tell them what direction I was coming from.
When we got back to the hanger, Louis de-briefed me. He said that I had the skill of someone with more hours than I have. E.g. I have 5.2hrs but I have the skills of a 7 hr student or what ever amount of hours he was refering to!
Great flight with NO bumps!
Regards
Ross

Re: 6 Hours Under the belt!!!
Wow!! A lot of turbulance today!!
It was great! Louis feels my landings and takeoffs are fine, and there for, we are doing new stuff next time!! We did a lot of normal landings, and our last was a deadstick! Wow, those are fun!!
I think it has just 'clicked' eveerything feels easier!! I am not so afraid of the radio anymore either!!
Louis is still maintaining that I'm a natural pilot, and his support really boosts my confidence!
I saw Karl as well!
Cheers
